An Earthquake Close to Home

In recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chile many have responded to the disasters. I was one of almost 100 people from our church and partnering organization ACTS World Relief. I hope to return soon to help the people there to rebuild there homes and provide much needed spiritual and emotional care.

But this entry in my blog is not about the quakes on the other side of the world. It is about the quakes that have been occurring much closer to home. Some homes have been destroyed and others are crumbling. Unfortunately these quakes are not getting much attention, these quakes are only felt by those whose marriages are falling apart. In most cases even their neighbors are unaware of the damage.

While in Haiti, I worked along side of doctors and nurses who were performing life saving surgery’s. We worked in a hospital that had survived the quakes, but in the back of everyone’s mind was the thought of another quake. Would we be safe? Was the foundation of the hospital solid? Or did it have cracks? Occasionally we would feel the after shocks that caused most of us to evaluate our situation. At one point after hearing the advice of a structural engineer, we actually came to the conclusion “If we do not protect ourselves first then we may not be able to go on saving lives.”

Have you been ignoring the quakes in your marriage? Is your foundation solid? Are you protecting your family?

You may need the help of the structural engineer to help you to get a good understanding of how solid your foundation is. Repairs may need to be performed before you can go on.

Make sure you can go on saving the lives of your spouse, children, friends and family. Seek God first, He is the structural engineer of your marriage. He has a plan. I encourage you to also seek out the help of someone who can guide you through the list of precautions and foundational repair options.

I would love the opportunity to help you or friends of yours in this process. I am a certified life coach and a pastoral care counselor.

Please Pray for all the marriages that are going through disaster’s of some kind.

Pray that they will hear the voice of God through the rubble.

A Life Coach is sometimes very necessary so that we do not loose our way in our lives.-;"

    • Harry,

I appreciate your comment. Very few people understand what a Life Coach is. It is great to see that you understand the need to be coached on our goals and pursuits of life. It is so easy to get sidetracked from our goals and allow obstacles to impede our success in life.

Let me know if I can help in any way. Even Coaches need to be coached.

If I do not get a chance to meet you, I will at least pray for your and your success.

      James
